- Resumen: Puede afirmarse que la conservación y recuperación de los bosques primarios dependerá, en gran medida, del binomio que forman las plantaciones y la industria de primera transformación. Las plantaciones, por sí mismas, no son ni buenas ni malas. La cualidad que las definirá será la administración que se haga de tales recursos. Por lo tanto, la gestión racional, denominada también con el término sostenible y otras expresiones equivalentes, proporciona efectos beneficiosos a los bosques primarios. Además, hay que tener en cuenta que las plantaciones nunca deberían ser llevadas a cabo en lugares donde se hallen bosques primarios. La relevancia de la industria de primera transformación queda patente al observar la cantidad de objetos necesarios para la vida cotidiana de una persona que son hechos con materia prima extraída de las plantaciones como cualquier objeto de papel, tableros, etc. En este sentido, cabe hacer una reflexión sobre las consecuencias negativas para los bosques que supondría disfrutar de tales bienes sin la existencia de las plantaciones y sin la manufactura de la industria de primera transformación. Además, la existencia de esta industria y su evolución han sido posibles gracias a la investigación que ha ido diseñando nuevos productos y ha innovado la forma de obtener nuevos bienes aprovechando la madera, o los restos de ella, provenientes de las plantaciones. Recuérdese que la industria de primera transformación ha estado vinculada a los sectores más vanguardistas de la industria como el del automóvil o el aeronáutico, entre otros. Todas estas circunstancias hacen que la vida diaria del hombre esté más próxima al mundo de la madera de lo que cada individuo pudiera llegar a pensar. ----------ABSTRACT---------- It can be affirmed that the conservation and the recovery of primary forests will depend on, to a large extent, on the binomial formed by the plantations and the roundwood industry. Plantations, by themselves, are either good or bad. The quality that will define them will be the administration which is made of such resources. Therefore, rational management, also called sustainable and other equivalent expressions, provides beneficial effects to primary forests. Also, keep in mind that plantations should not carried out in places where primary forests are found. The relevance of the roundwood industry is clear when observing the amount of objects necessary for the daily life of a person that are made with raw material extracted from the plantations like any paper, object, boards, etc. In this sense, it is worth reflecting on the negative consequences for the forests that it would imply to enjoy such goods without the existence of the plantations and without the manufacture of the roundwood industry. In addittion, the existence of this industry and its evolution have been posible thanks to the research that has been designing new products and has innovated the way to obtain new goods taking advantage of the wood, or the remains of it, coming from the plantations. One have to remember that the roundwood industry has been linkend to the most avant-garde sectors of the industry such as the automobile or aeronautics, among others. All these circumstances make the daily life of man closer to the world of wood than any individual could think.
